Candle Requests

“Do not grudge burning a wax taper before the icon of the Lord during prayer; remember that you burn it before the inaccessible Light and before Him Who enlightens you with His light. Your candle is as though a burnt offering to the Lord; let it be a gift to God from your whole heart; let it remind you that you yourself should also be a burning and shining light.”—St. John of Kronstadt

Help us fill the darkened church with the light of your prayers. During these difficult and unprecedented times, we may feel as if the darkness of the tomb is ever drawing near. But we must remember that Christ is the light in the darkness, and though we cannot enter the church physically, we can offer up our prayers for one another. For each donation, Father Nicholas and Father John will light candles and say a prayer for your living and departed loved ones. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5)
